We all ponder on the rapidly growing trends of advertising and marketing strategies. One of the famous strategies of marketing is to introduce a brand ambassador that is usually a celebrity or a model specifically hired to promote purpose. On the other hand, we have yet another option which is called mascots or living character that represents the brand and actually a trademark itself. Both of these styles incorporate some pros and cons, but according to my point of view, I would prefer mascots over celebrity ambassadors. Why don’t we discuss the reason on this choice?
One of the most genuine reasons that we could analyze through social media is the mentioning of the brands with celebrities are quite low. A very few celebrities promote their tasks through social media which why we see really small amount of engagement. While, the animated characters such as Fido, Pringles and so forth are entirely made to market your product and so they are only used to market your brand.
Well, we can say it is the toughest job to create a mascot that is lovable to everyone and gain popularity equally. In the matter of famous people, we are pretty much sure about the recognition, but this popularity can also cause harm to the image of our product as it may only give rise to the celebrity and not to the merchandise.
Fictional personas give you the overall flexibility to create imaginary surroundings and endorse them with different qualities as you please. Whereas, celebrities have their persona that you simply are not able to alter and this could also reason a hurdle in your idea and creativeness.
Your mascot is the representative of only your product, but this is not the case, while talking about celebrities as they are representing tons of products other than yours. So, it becomes a great difficulty to get into the head of your audience also to make sure they are remembering and look like your product as they saw some celebrity. Nevertheless, an imagined character like Fido or McDonalds can do it well for you. Because a living character is made to represent your business or product and every time they are mentioned, they are only representing your company.
You can also get variety of modification with your featured personality. Like, if you are advertising specially for Evening, you may want to add some fear features in your living character and it would have no issues, one the other side of the coin hand, a celebrity will have his or her own will to do this. Putting together series of different ad would cost an extra amount, but with listed character an individual worry about such expenses as outfits, cosmetic artists, backgrounds and so on.
Well, these are generally the reasons I found to up vote for fictional heroes for marketing. What do you think about the idea? Let us know through your comments.
